The Beauty or real Glory of a person is when that person lives into the weightiness and the significance of living at home within themselves – their true selves, not the one twisted and falsified by sin and brokenness. That is, our Glory is wrapped up in our redemption, so that we can really be what God really created us to be. The longer we live in this messy place, the more confused we can be about what it means to live out of the Divine purposes for our lives.

I wonder if that’s the significance of the unveiled face in 2 Cor 3:18?

“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”

I remember Dr. Packer saying the more clearly we can see God the more clearly we see ourselves as we really are. We tend to think this speaks to our wretchedness as sinners. Could it not also be that seeing God and ourselves clearly and rightly we gain clarity on the glory of the Divine image we bear?

Let us press on to remove the veil.
